FIPL – Corporate Website & Admin Platform
Production corporate website and admin console for First Independent Power Limited (FIPL), a Nigerian independent power producer operating four gas turbine plants with 541MW combined capacity.
Context
FIPL needed a public-facing website covering its power plants, sustainability initiatives, careers, and vendor registration, alongside an internal console non-technical staff could use to manage news, job listings, media, and site content without developer involvement.
Challenge
Building a server-rendered marketing site backed by dynamic, editable content, a role-based admin system with three permission tiers, and an AI chatbot that could answer visitor questions safely without exposing internal data or being manipulated by prompt injection.
Solution
Built on Next.js 14 App Router with Supabase (PostgreSQL, Row Level Security) as the content and data layer, with graceful degradation if Supabase is unreachable. Implemented cookie-session admin auth with owner/content/HR role tiers behind middleware, a Tiptap-powered content editor, Resend for transactional email, Web Push (VAPID) for admin alerts, and a Gemini-powered chatbot with prompt-injection and profanity filtering.
